Angela J. Willard We cannot imagine what Elohim (God, our Heavenly Father) has planned and prepared for those of us who love Him. His plans for us are for good, to give us a great future full of HOPE. God LOVES us! “‘For I know the plans I am planning for you,’ declares יהוה, ‘plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and an expectancy. Then you shall call on Me, and shall come and pray to Me, and I shall listen to you. And you shall seek Me, and shall find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart’” Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 29:11-13 (ISR). Read all of Jeremiah 29 in your study time. Elohim reveals His plans for us to our spirit. Sometimes He gives us dreams, visions (like pictures or movies playing in your mind), words in our spirit, impressions in our spirit—like He just “planted” knowledge or information right into us (a download from the Heavenly realm). We are spiritual beings! We have a soul (our mind, intellect, personality) and we live in a body (our temporary tent—read 2 Corinthians 5). Our Heavenly Father teaches us from His spirit to our spirit; not as humans teach -- with limited human wisdom and inaccuracies, but from His Spirit, His PERFECT wisdom. He loves to teach His children! “Let Me instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; Let Me counsel, My eye be on you” Tehillim (Psalm) 32:8 (ISR). “My son, listen to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; Guard them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And healing to all their flesh. Watch over your heart with all diligence, For out of it are the sources of life. Turn away from you a crooked mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look forward, And your eyelids look straight before you. Consider the path of your feet, And all your ways are established. Do not turn to the right or the left; Turn your foot away from evil” Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 4:20-27 (ISR). Read all of Proverbs 4 in your study time. “And do not turn aside from any of the Words which I am commanding you today, right or left, to go after other mighty ones to serve them” Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 28:14 (ISR). Read all of Deuteronomy 28 in your study time. Note: Some churches may teach that Deuteronomy is not for today, but I do not agree. Elohim does not change, and His Word is relevant and alive today. “And יהוה said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to do it” Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 1:12 (ISR). “Ěl is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?” Bemiḏbar (Numbers) 23:19 (ISR). In your study/prayer time, ask Elohim how Deuteronomy 28 applies to you. As His children, we need to surrender ourselves to Him in order for His plans to be established in our lives. We surrender our will in exchange for His. We surrender our thoughts in exchange for His thoughts, our lives in exchange for our new life in Him in order for His spirit to guide us, teach us, comfort us and live through us in full capacity. Elohim is GOOD and He wants to do good through us—love people, help people, teach people His truth, and much more. With God, it’s all GOOD! Surrendering to Him is a process, a continual transformation over time. Through this transformation, we become aligned with our Heavenly Father. His thoughts become our thoughts. His ways become our ways. His words proceed out of our mouths. Our minds transform to become like the mind of Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah (Christ), who is perfectly aligned with Elohim. It is through our belief in our Messiah that we have the ability to spiritually align ourselves to God. Without our Messiah, aligning ourselves to our Creator is impossible. Having the mind of Messiah is impossible without having belief in Him. It is He who gives us the power to overcome our human nature in order to live and walk in the spirit. ‘יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ Yoḥanan (John) 14:6 (ISR). “Besides, I wrote for this purpose also, that I might know the proof of you, if you are obedient in all matters. And whom you forgive any matter, I do also. For indeed, if I have forgiven any matter, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the sight of Messiah, lest Satan should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his thoughts. And when I came to Troas for the Good News of Messiah, and a door was opened to me by the Master, I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother. But taking my leave of them, I went on to Makedonia. But thanks be to Elohim who always leads us on, to overcome in Messiah, and manifests through us the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. Because we are to Elohim the fragrance of Messiah among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death to death, and to the other the fragrance of life to life. And who is competent for these?” Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 2:9-16 (ISR). Read all of 1 Corinthians 2 in your study time. As we study the Scriptures and build our relationship with our Creator, through our belief in Yeshua Messiah, our Heavenly Father will transform us into His image and likeness. And He is Love! He will transform us into carriers of His love. The truths found in the Holy Scriptures and what He speaks to us, either directly or through others, will wash us clean and transform our minds. The washing of our minds with His words will remove negativity, bitterness, hate and any other thoughts that are from the enemy. It is our responsibility to refuse to think on the negative thoughts that are opposite to His words and truths. Just because the enemy plops something into our minds, doesn’t mean we need to think on it. Refuse the negative and focus on the positive. “I call upon you, therefore, brothers, through the compassion of Elohim, to present your bodies a living offering – set-apart, well-pleasing to Elohim – your reasonable worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim” Romiyim (Romans) 12:1-2 (ISR) . Read all of Romans 12 in your study time. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh. For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds, overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah, and being ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is complete” Qorintiyim Bĕt (2 Corinthians) 10:3-6 (ISR). The blood sacrifice Yeshua made on our behalf is a continual flowing that covers all who come to Him from that time and on throughout the ages to follow. When we choose to turn away from our sins and look to Him, our sins are forgiven, washed clean by the power in His blood. ‘Saying above, “Slaughter and meal offering, and burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor delighted in,” which are offered according to the Torah, then He said, “See, I come to do Your desire, O Elohim.” He takes away the first to establish the second. By that desire we have been set apart through the offering of the body of יהושע Messiah once for all.’ Iḇ`rim (Hebrews) 10:8-10 (ISR). As we continue to walk in His ways, we eventually become aligned to Him with our minds renewed. When we lack the wisdom, strength or ability to do whatever He asks us to do, we go to Him for all those and He freely enables us, empowers us and gives us the wisdom we need. Through all that He gives us, we are able to come into alignment with Him and stay aligned in order to have the mind of Messiah, and to use our renewed minds to create a better life for ourselves and others. “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the proving of your belief works endurance. And let endurance have a perfect work, so that you be perfect and complete, lacking in naught. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him. But he should ask in belief, not doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For that man should not think that he shall receive whatever from the Master –he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 1:2-8 (ISR). Overcoming Evil with Good by Angela J. Willard Besides absolution of sins, another very important empowerment we receive from Yeshua Messiah is the ability to conquer (overcome) the enemy and his attacks. “But thanks to Elohim who gives us the overcoming through our Master יהושע Messiah” 1 Corinthians 15:57 ISR. Last week I was attacked with hurtful words that took me down, but not out. I clung to Elohim and prayed for peace, even through my tears. I prayed for the person who hurt me, and I made the effort to bless them daily, even when I didn’t feel like it. “Father bless so-and-so from their head to their feet. Bless them as they come in and as they go out, may all the work of their hands be blessed...” etc. Every day I prayed for them and blessed them. And I took those hurtful words that were used against me and laid them at my Father’s feet. “Bless those cursing you, and pray for those insulting you” Luqas (Luke) 6:28 ISR. This week, that person apologized and asked me for forgiveness. I had already forgiven them in my heart but it sure felt good to know they were truly sorry. This opened the door for us to talk about what was said and how we can avoid a hurtful situation in the future. Through this, not only was there forgiveness but then came understanding. We learned from one another and understood each other. So now it’s as if last week’s insult and injury never happened. We now have a clean slate, a fresh start. We overcame! “But in all this we are more than overcomers through Him who loved us” Romiyim (Romans) 8:37 ISR. What the enemy tried to do was destroy our relationship. But Yeshua is all about restoration and reconciliation. He has taught us the way of peace. If we follow Him and His examples, we will overcome evil in our lives when we do our part, even when the other party may not ever apologize or seek forgiveness. We will have peace even if they don’t. And in cases such as these we should continue to pray for the person to have peace in their lives as well. Prayer works. It is so important to understand that our enemy is Satan and his many demons. They are evil spirits that work through people, even us if we allow them. People are not the enemy. They are being used as a puppet from the kingdom of darkness whose only desire is to destroy the Kingdom of Light, everyone in it (Elohim’s children) and all that is good. We cannot allow him to work through us! We must pray for one another, instead of attacking one another with evil words, deeds and even thoughts. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to slaughter, and to destroy. I have come that they might possess life, and that they might possess it beyond measure” Yoḥanan (John) 10:10 ISR. “Be sober, watch, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 5:8 ISR. If we want to have peace in our lives, we must walk in peace. This means we may need to be the person who steps forward in order to make peace, even when we were the person who has been wronged. Let us walk in the way of Yeshua and speak peace even to those who have hurt us. Let us be peacemakers and not evildoers. Only through this way can we truly overcome evil with good. “Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, on your part, be at peace with all men” Romiyim (Romans) 12:17-18 ISR. Tsiyon House of Worship is a fellowship of His Work Global Ministries, Inc www.hisworkministries.org The Armour of Elohim Angela J. Willard “For the rest, my brothers, be strong in the Master and in the mightiness of His strength. Put on the complete armour of Elohim, for you to have power to stand against the schemes of the devil. Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual matters of wickedness in the heavenlies. Because of this, take up the complete armour of Elohim, so that you have power to withstand in the wicked day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, then, having girded your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, having taken up the shield of belief with which you shall have power to quench all the burning arrows of the wicked one. Take also the helmet of deliverance, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim, praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the set-apart ones” Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 6:10-18 (ISR).
We are to be at peace with all people, whenever possible [Romiyim (Romans) 12:18]. When we are walking in the ways of Elohim, He will cause even our enemies to be at peace with us [Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 16:7]. “Blessed are the peacemakers, because they shall be called sons (children) of Elohim” Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:9. Be at peace, speak peace, walk in peace, child of Elohim.
4. Belief: Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 6:16: “Above all, having taken up the shield of belief with which you shall have power to quench all the burning arrows of the wicked one.” Elohim’s Word is true and your faith in His truths will guard you from the enemy’s lies. Whether you received a word from Him in The Scriptures or other written word or received a prophetic word that resonated with your spirit, you can believe His word! “Ěl is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent (change His mind)! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it? [Bemiḏbar (Numbers) 23:19]”. Abraham believed the word of Elohim, even seeing the impossibility in his human flesh, he believed what Elohim said. Elohim saw Abraham’s faith and called it righteousness [Berĕshith (Genesis) 15:6]. Abraham’s faith in Elohim’s word caused Abraham to be in right standing with Him, to come into agreement and alignment with Him. We must partner with Elohim by believing His word, standing on His word and not wavering. Stand strong in your belief! 5. Deliverance: Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 6:17a: “Take also the helmet of deliverance…” As children of Elohim, through our faith in atonement of our sins through Elohim and Yeshua’s sacrifice on our behalf, we are delivered from the schemes of the enemy and no weapon formed against us will prosper—unless we let them! We must allow His truths to cleanse our minds and transform us so we can stand against enemy attack. “’No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall prove wrong. This is the inheritance of the servants of יהוה, and their righteousness from Me,’ declares יהוה” Yeshayah (Isaiah) 54:17. Where the enemy attacks most is in our own minds. Through the Word of Elohim, we have deliverance over those attacks. Yeshua gave us a very good example of this in Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4:1-11. Speak out His truths to destroy Satan’s lies! 6. Word of Elohim: Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 6:17b: “…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim.” We must use the word of Elohim against the attacks of the enemy—they are our spiritual sword! We do this not only by believing His words but by declaring them out loud into our atmosphere. When Satan tempted Yeshua in the wilderness, he was defeated by the Word of Elohim every single time! [See Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4:1-11.] As children of Elohim we have authority over the enemy [Luqas (Luke) 10:19.] Use His words to attack Satan’s lies. ‘Is not My Word like a fire?” declares יהוה, “and like a hammer that shatters a rock?’ Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 23:29. Use your spiritual sword! 7. Prayer: Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 6:18: “Praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the set-apart ones.” Prayer is essential and it is simple. Prayer is talking to our Heavenly Father, Elohim, Creator of all things. What He desires most from us is a relationship, not religion. We cannot have a relationship without good communication. We build that relationship through prayer. Just talk to Him honestly and directly, the way you would with a best friend who loves you unconditionally. We must go before Elohim with clean hands and a clean heart because He is HOLY. He cannot even look upon sin. Sin will keep us from having open communication with Him, like a wall between us. “But your crookednesses have separated you from your Elohim. And your sins have hidden His face from you, from hearing” Yeshayah (Isaiah) 59:2. Through confession and repentance of our sins, and belief that our atonement is through Yeshua Messiah, we are able to go boldly to the throne of Elohim with clean hands and a clean heart. We go to Elohim’s throne of grace with our prayers and praise and make our requests known. We thank Him for all we have, no matter how much or little we may have, we honor Him for it all. We ask for our sins to be forgiven, for protection, for wisdom and direction for our lives, for our needs to be met, and we pray for the needs of others. Without the armour of Elohim we will not be able to withstand the attacks of the enemy. Wear your armour, child of Elohim.
